Division of Geohydrology
Introduction
The Geohydrology Division is one of five Divisions within the Directorate: Resource Management of the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry.
The Division comprises three Subdivisions:
- Geohydrological Investigations & Services
- Groundwater Management
- Technical Support and Administration with two sections: Groundwater Monitoring & Control and Drilling & Test Pumping.
Mission Statement:
To assess, manage, monitor and regulate the quantity and quality of groundwater available and utilised in all possible underground aquifers, countrywide, in order to maintain a sustainable source of water, and to assist rural water supply and other agencies with the development of new and the rehabilitation of existing groundwater sources.
